You want the best for your child. Great grades. Friends. Confidence. You believe they can get there if they try. But they don’t seem to be trying. And they act like it’s no big deal. Like they want to miss out on the best things in life.

It breaks your heart to watch them struggle.  And you’re losing patience. You’re tired of telling them to try things. Of searching for ways to help them. Of hearing them reject your help. And of the big feelings that show up when you try.

Those big feelings seem to come out of nowhere. They affect everyone in the house. They have you walking on eggshells. You find yourself worrying about how your child will cope with the next challenge they face.

You may be parenting an anxious child

You’re doing everything you can to make it better. And you still wonder “Am I doing enough?  Why can’t I stay calm when they’re melting down?  Why does parenting seem so easy for everyone else?”

It’s a helpless feeling.  All of this shame and guilt about reacting to your child’s emotions.  Not knowing how to help them.  You hope it can be different.   But how?

I’ll show you.  I help anxious kids and tweens handle big feelings like anger, overwhelm, anxiety, fear, and sadness.  I use play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques to bring out your child’s inner strength.  Your child will feel empowered.  Their behavior will shift.  The dark cloud over your family life will lift.

You are not alone. Other parents are right there with you.

Every child faces challenges. They grow at their own pace, on their own trajectory. And sometimes that leaves them out of sync with our expectations. A little help is often all it takes to get back in sync and keep growing.

That’s what worked for me. I’ve lived with an anxiety disorder since I was a child. And the strategies I learned to manage my anxiety can help your family too. (Along with the tools that I’ve learned in my time as a Parent Trainer, School based Mental Health Therapist, and Therapeutic Foster Care worker. )

Together, we’ll build your child’s confidence and celebrate their successes. I’ll teach you strategies for navigating the meltdown moments.  You’ll breathe a sigh of relief as it all starts to make sense.

Best of all, as your child’s confidence grows they’ll start participating more in school. And in life. When you’re ready to see the change that therapy can bring, I’m here.
